The CWIP is designed to offer a person time to evaluate their life, and their choices in relation to alcohol/drugs. The CWIP is offered over a weekend (48 hours) from Friday night starting at 5:30p, and ends Sunday night by 5:30p. Our CWIP program is the second weekend of every month. If the court recommends House Arrest you will be assisted in managing this requirement late Sunday afternoon (either on campus [JoCo], or after CWIP for other providers).
Your time at CWIP will consist of group education, small group discussions, and reflective excercises. Some will have individual sessions with a counselor. You will find the program upbeat, and positive.
A report will be sent to the court when a client has finished the CWIP program. The report will reflect actual client comments as they type that portion of the report. Then our main counselor will summarize their progress in the report. All reports are then reviewed by the client, and signed.
The CWIP takes place at the Johnson County Residential Center (101 Roeland Park Dr., New Century, KS 66031 - We are in building #2). The building used for CWIP is not like a jail. There are no bars, no fences with barbed wire. You will find the facility clean, with a seperate male and female wing with only two people to a room. We want you to feel safe during your stay, and that is why we have a Certified Kansas Police Offier(s) present in the building 24 hours a day.

To remove some of the possible anxiety of coming to CWIP. We have included some pictures of the facility. This is of one of the wings (as men have one wing, and women the other). The set up resembles a dormitory. Below is a standard room.

When you request a packet it will include what you can and can not bring to the CWIP program.
