The Community Weekend Intervention Program (CWIP) is offered by a combined effort of A Connecting Pointe, and Phoenix Recovery Systems. Though named Johnson County CWIP we take clients from other counties, and all townships.
Picking a CWIP provider is an important choice. Our counselors are fully licensed/certified, and our speakers are chosen for their effectiveness, expertise, and professionalism. We have a real person doing our VIP, and not just a video. We have a licensed Family & Marital Therapist, and one of the most respected STD/HIV/AIDS educators in the state. We also have individuals representing AA who once sat through the CWIP program in years past. We also have a respected lawyer there to answer any questions, and to cover DUI laws.
You will never be talked down to, or treated like a criminal. Education and treatment is offered by Phoenix Recovery; while administration is offered by A Connecting Pointe. All one has to do is see our discharge summaries to see the thoroughness of our programs.
When you have completed CWIP you will be given a certificate that is signed, embossed with the CWIP symbol, and has an individual number on a holographic tamper-proof sticker. A report will be sent to the court that includes client's reflections. The counselor will then add a progress report, and then the client will review it -- and sign it.
The CWIP is traditionally offered in lieu of jail time, and is requested by a person's attorney and ordered by the Judge. The CWIP also servies as completion of Level I and II ADIS Education, and the DUI Victim Impact Panel (VIP). We also offer our program at the cost of $350 ($50 less than other providers).
